Project Humble Final

In a world where students are increasingly distanced from nature, Project Humble reconnects them through hands-on learning that inspires curiosity, confidence, and real-world impact. More than just lessons, our programs empower students to tackle real challenges, fostering a sense of purpose and well-being.

By blending adventure with curriculum-aligned experiences, we turn learning into an exciting journey—one that reduces anxiety, builds resilience, and helps students see the difference they can make. When education is this engaging, it fuels both the heart and mind.

Since its inception, Project Humble has grown into a thriving learning movement, now partnering with nearly 50 schools and reaching over 5,000 students across the Hunter and into Sydney. Our Nature Spark Learning approach has struck a chord, helping students and teachers bridge classroom learning with real-world environmental action. From building beehives to restoring ecosystems, our programs prove that hands-on, engaging education sparks curiosity, confidence, and a deep sense of purpose.

With overwhelming enthusiasm from schools, we’re expanding even further—welcoming more educators, more students, and more opportunities to learn, explore, and make a difference. Project Humble is more than a program; it’s a movement, and there’s plenty of room for you to join the adventure.

We are a team of educators, storytellers, and innovators dedicated to inspiring the next generation through hands-on, meaningful learning. At the heart of Project Humble are co-founders Benjamin and Julia Durie, who have led the way since 2017—Benjamin as a seasoned primary school teacher and principal, and Julia as a dietitian with a passion for gardening and well-being.

Our programs are built to connect students with nature, empowering them to explore, learn, and take action in the world around them. Every lesson is designed to be engaging, fun, and impactful, helping students not only understand the world but also shape it.

“The best teaching and learning experience I have honestly been involved in.”Lauren Main, Assistant Principal, East Maitland Public School

“An incredible combination of classroom learning and real-world impact. ALL of our students were engaged, and some of my teachers are now wanting to get scuba diving accreditation because of their involvement in this program.” Peter Thompson, Teacher, Wiripaang Public School

“It feels like we are actually doing something for the world.” Students from Millfield and Abermain Public Schools (ABC Radio Interview)

Together, we are building a community of young change-makers, passionate about the environment and equipped with the skills to make a difference. Join us in inspiring and empowering students—one lesson at a time.

Tell us a little about yourself, and we’ll send you everything you need to explore our programs.
